Add an extra layer of protection around your Vortech pump

The intake of a powerful circulation pump can pose a risk to anemones, small fish, shrimp and other vulnerable aquarium inhabitants. This Fish & Anemone Guard covers the wet side of your EcoTech Vortech pump and helps reduce the risk of livestock coming into direct contact with the intake.

Its open geometry is designed to allow water to move through the guard without using a foam sleeve. Choose the correct version for your MP10, MP40 or MP60 pump.

The guards are model-specific and are not interchangeable between different pump sizes.

Cleaning and maintenance

Inspect the guard regularly for algae, debris and other buildup. Clean it whenever necessary to maintain unrestricted openings and consistent water movement.

For coralline algae or mineral deposits, remove the guard and soak it in a diluted vinegar solution. Rinse it thoroughly with clean water before reinstalling it.

A guard reduces the risk of livestock reaching the pump intake but cannot guarantee complete protection in every aquarium. Continue to monitor mobile anemones and vulnerable animals.
